'Nikah took place, but not to Ayesha'

A day after Ayesha Siddiqui, who claimed to that have married Shoaib Malik in 2002, provided proof of their alleged 'Nikahnama', the Pakistani cricketer received backing not only from his fiancé Sania Mirza but also from people in his hometown -- Sialkot.

TIMES NOW's camera's went to Malik's hometown of Sialkot in Pakistan's Punjab province to try and find out the real story.

TIMES NOW spoke to a number of Shoaib's colleagues, who have backed the cricketer to the hilt, saying that he has not done anything wrong and that it was Ayesha and her family who have played a double game.

Zulfiqar Ahman, President, Sialkot Region Cricket Association said, "I am was not involved in any Nikah...This is a sheer falsehood that has been concocted."

Meanwhile, Chaudhary Khalid, Employer of alleged witness Ibrar Hussain said, "It is Shoaib Malik who was cheated. The girl put a different photo on her internet profile and developed an online relationship with Shoaib. But when they finally met, the truth about the girl was revealed."
